CHERRYVILLE, N.C. - Ruby Hester Clinton, age 84, of Cherryville passed away Friday, May 13, 2022 at her residence.
She was born August 29, 1937 in Gaston County to the late Ernest Luther and Belvie Stines Hester. Ruby enjoyed camping and taking beach trips. She was an avid bowler. Her greatest joy in life was being a mother and grandmother. She loved to take care of others and show love to all she knew.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, William David “W.D.” Clinton; brothers, Paul, Pervie, and Lester Hester; and a nephew, Luther Hester.
Survivors include her daughter, Kay Burnette; sons, Doug Clinton, Terry Clinton and wife Keri, and Kevin Clinton and wife Haley; grandchildren, John Lynn, Michael Clinton and wife Jessica, Chris Lynn and wife Sarah, Wesley Clinton, Emma Clinton, and Bristol Clinton; great-grandchildren, Savannah, Brigitte, Ian, Sebastian, and Noah; and special nephew, Gary Hester.
The family will receive friends Sunday, May 15, 2022 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Carpenter-Porter Funeral & Cremation Services.
A graveside service will be held Monday, May 16, 2022 at 11 a.m. at City Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Paul Mace officiating.
