Lincoln County Man Charged With Child Sexual Assault

LINCOLNTON, N.C. – Lincoln County Sheriff’s detectives have charged a Reepsville Road man with child sexual assault charges.
On March 23, 2024, LCSO Detective A. Swim was dispatched to a scene where a juvenile had allegedly been sexually assaulted by a relative. After speaking with witnesses Detective Swim charged Ricardo Leal Tapia, 43, with indecent liberties with a child, statutory sex offense with a child by an adult, and sexual activity by a substitute parent or guardian.
Tapia was taken before a Lincoln County magistrate and placed in the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center under a $250,000 secured bond.
The investigation is continuing and additional charges in the case are possible.
