Fatz Cafe opened in Lincolnton in 2003.  As part of a group closure, it ceased operations in August of last year.  Shortly after the closure, two partners, Brian Shillinglaw and Bryan Kelly, began discussions about possibly reopening the former Fatz location as a steakhouse.

We'll have more on the story later, but for now, the news is that Carolina Steak & Rib will become Lincolnton's new steakhouse in about two months.  They've begun remodeling the location and are hoping to open by early June.  

Shillinglaw is already in the steakhouse business at Lineberger's Steakhouse on Highway 150 at Sherrills Ford.
