LINCOLNTON––Ah, spring is in the air!
With spring of course comes the annual custom of putting new plants in the ground and planting seeds. And to this end, according to local artist Stacey Pilkington Smith, the Blue House Studio of Lincolnton will hold its sixth annual seed and plant exchange on May 4, 11 a.m.-3 p.m.
Smith, the studio’s owner, spoke Thursday about this upcoming event.
“Please join us,” she said, adding that the seed and plant exchange would feature “free plants and seeds to share with the community! Each year, we invite members of the community to drop off their overflow of seeds and plants, all while being welcome to peruse our ever-evolving collection to take some of our extras.
“We ask that you label what you bring,” she added, “take only what you need, and fill out a label. You should also bring something to put your new seeds and plants in and a permanent marker to write what you’re taking home with you on your container. We will also have a few plants and artwork available for sale.”
The Blue House Studio is located at 1111 W. Secondary NC-150 in Lincolnton.
