CLAREMONT, N.C. - Marie Courtney Aitken, 80, of Claremont passed away on Monday, March 18, 2024 at her residence.

She was born September 4, 1943 in Passaic County, N.J. to the late John and Mary Prall Courtney. Marie was an avid bingo player and loved to play every chance she got.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Aitken; granddaughter, Summer Rose Aitken and several brothers and sisters.

Those left to cherish her memory is her son Thomas Aitken of Claremont; daughters Dawn Wynn of Winston-Salem, Diane Aitken of Winston-Salem, Margaret Icard of Hickory; caregiver/granddaughter Angela Aitken of Newton; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and her fur-baby Lindsey-Lou-Lou.

A service to celebrate Marie’s life will be held at a later date.
