LINCOLNTON, N.C. - In honor of National Athletic Training Month, Lincoln County Schools (LCS) would like to recognize the athletic trainers that work with our student athletes across the county. LCS has enjoyed a partnership with Atrium Health to provide each high school with a licensed athletic trainer for several years now.

Rachel Jenkins (East Lincoln High School)

During March, athletic trainers across America are being recognized for their commitment to helping their patients prevent injuries, stay healthy and active. As healthcare professionals they are highly educated and dedicated to the job at hand, Athletic trainers are found in high schools and colleges, corporations, professional sports, the military, performing arts, clinics, hospitals and physician offices.

Atrium Health athletic trainers are nationally certified, and state licensed to provide healthcare services to patients in a variety of settings. Athletic trainers are tasked with providing care in injury prevention, recognition, evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation. They work under the guidance of an Atrium Health sports medicine physicians Dr. Jeffrey Ham and Dr. Deanna Didiano.

Lincoln County schools would like to salute the following atrium athletic trainers for their essential role in providing quality healthcare for our student athletes every day. Alicia Harvey (Lincolnton HS); Addie McGinnis (North Lincoln HS); Rachel Jenkins (East Lincoln HS); and Jamison Holloway (West Lincoln HS) are the Atrium ATs who are providing daily care to the student athletes of LCS. If you see them on campus while supporting our teams, help us by thanking them for what they do for our children and their role in keeping them safe.
