Our nation’s sixteenth president, Abraham Lincoln was born in what was at the time called Hardin County, Kentucky, (now La Rue County) on Sinking Spring Farm, on February 12th, 1809. Lincoln’s father was Thomas Lincoln, and his mother was named Nancy Lincoln. At the time of his birth, Lincoln’s family lived in a one room cabin that housed his father, his mother, and an older sister; Sarah.
