CATAWBA, N.C. - Norma Jean Caldwell Kale, 90, of Catawba, passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at Carolina Caring Sherrills Ford Hospice House.

She was born October 11, 1933 in Caldwell County to the late John Bunion Caldwell and Cletus Hawn Caldwell. Norma was a member of Center Church in Catawba and retired from the educational system. She enjoyed working in her garden and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband of 27 years, Bobby Rudisill; second husband of 14 years, Joyce Sherrill; third husband of four years, Boyce Kale; and brother, J.B. Caldwell Jr.

Those left to cherish her memory is her son Alton Rudisill and wife Angie of Catawba; daughter Debbie Burris and husband Eddie of Maiden; sisters Martha George of Maiden, Judy Crafton of Maiden; grandchildren Robbie Stewart (Casey), Michael Stewart (Corey), Bradley Rudisill (Kelly), and Hunter Rudisill (Abby); great-grandchildren Briar Stewart, Salem Stewart, Shepherd Stewart, Sadie Stewart, Blaire Hall, William Rudisill, Kennedy Rudisill, and Hayes Rudisill.

A service to celebrate Norma’s life will be held on Sunday, May 5, 2024 at 3 p.m. at Center Church in Catawba. Rev. Don Farris, Rev. Derek Cline, and Rev. John Love will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2-2:45 p.m. at Center Church. Those serving as pallbearers will be Robbie Stewart, Michael Stewart, Bradley Rudisill, Hunter Rudisill, Briar Stewart, and Grayson Lail.
