STANLEY, N.C. - Creighton Lamar Cherry, age 83, of Rollins Street in Stanley, passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2024.

A graveside service was held at 3 p.m. on Friday, May 3, 2024, in the Unity Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Denver with Rev. Kevin Dover officiating.  The family received friends on Friday from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Warlick Funeral Home.

Creighton was born May 6, 1940, in Iredell County, to the late Mabel Cherry.  In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a brother, Noel “Jack” Cherry.  Creighton worked as a residential construction worker.

He is survived by his wife, Leatha Edwards Cherry of the home; daughters, Heidi C. Gillelan (Jeff) and Susan Cherry, all of Dallas; sister, Gloria Hovis (John) of Stanley; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
