Hopefully this Saturday's weather will be better than last weekend.  The forecast is calling for a cool start, possibly in the upper 40s but it will warm to the mid 70s and it will be sunny.

Saturday is the second Saturday in May and that means it's another Shop Local Saturday in downtown Lincolnton.  

Saturday evening, the Lincolnton Student Advisory Council will present a Movie in the Park at First Federal Park on N. Poplar Street.

The movie is "The Goonies"--a 1985 flick based on a Steven Spielberg story.  A  group of kids who live in the "Goon Docks" neighborhood of Astoria, Oregon, attempting to save their homes from foreclosure discover an old treasure map that takes them on an adventure to unearth the long-lost fortune of One-Eyed Willy, a legendary 17th-century pirate.
